Termination not found
I have an HP DAT 40i internal DDS-4 tape drive attached to an Adaptec 2930CU using the (terminated) cable that came with the tape unit.
When I boot the computer, the SCSI card reports that "Termination not found" and does not recognize the tape drive. Using the BIOS utility to force a scan of the SCSI bus hangs the computer.
When I boot with the card in the computer, but nothing attached, the card initializes properly and is recognized by the OS (Linux, Fedora Core 3).
Also, attaching a known good SCSI hard disk works without errors.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
Rob

Re: Termination not found
This is the initial setup. The tapedrive is fresh out of the box. So, this tape unit has never yet worked in any configuration.
As the manual recommends for Linux systems, the settings are:
Jumpers: TERM PWR, 2, 1
Dip switches: 3 OFF, rest ON
(Those are the shipping settings)
I've been to the website, but am unable to find anything that helps me.
Was this the info you needed?

Re: Termination not found
I'm stil unsure what is causing the problems and have opted to not use the tape drive in question.
Sincerely,
Rob Carriere
