ULTRIUM 2 LTO 1/8

Hello,

Can anyone tell me why our LTO does not read the barcodes?
Also, this is an HP product and we are getting the error "could not write data from cartridge memory"?

Thanks for any help

Re: ULTRIUM 2 LTO 1/8

Jospeh,

I am pretty sure the 1/8 LTO autoloader does not have a barcode reader, only the DLT drive autoloaders (optionally) have one.

Hello,

Can anyone verify that the LTO 460 drive 1/8 autoloader cannot do barcode scans?

Re: ULTRIUM 2 LTO 1/8

Here is a link to its specs.

No mention of barcode anywhere in the document cannot just be an oversight.

Re: ULTRIUM 2 LTO 1/8

Hello,

The product number for this LTO 1/8 is AA927A this doesn't even show up on the link above? The only model number close to it is AA926A and that is a 1/8 SDLT 320?

Can anyone explained this please?

Thanks

Re: ULTRIUM 2 LTO 1/8

Yes sure, the lto cartridges support barcode. you can attach it if you need to track your cartridges outside the autoloader.
The autoloader itself will not have any benefit with barcode, because LTO cartridges have a memory onboard that communicate with the drive via radio, and as the internal mechanism of the autoloader is made so that all the cartridge turn around the drive, if you need to make an inventory, if would not get faster than reading the cartridge via radio (would be just a bit faster, but the cost would be higher)
