Ultrium 1760
so I have a windows 7 dell PC with Ontrack Powercontrols installed. I have connected the Ultrium 1760 to the PC and CAN see it in the device manager as well as the controller. NO questions marks or exclamtion points.
I cant seem to get to the tape drive to extract the data from the tape.
any ideas?

Re: Ultrium 1760
is it supported on windows 7?
maybe you're not using the best driver?
sas? which controller card?
did you manage to write something to the tape via ontrack? has this ever worked?
maybe you can try to use hp library and tape tools to access the drive/run some tests.

Re: Ultrium 1760
If you want to restore data from a Tape Cartridge, you need to have the original Backup application in order to be able to read the data, then do an import of the tape.
The backup application will create the database with all files, and then you can start extracting the info you need.
