Ultrium 230 stores only 60 GB on a 100 GB cartidge

Hi,
I have got an Ultrium 230 drive. When making
the last backups I noticed that there is only
about 60GB stored on a 100 GB cartridge.
The data can not be compressed (pictures)
but at least 100 GB should fit on the
cartridge.

If the drive is having considerable error rate issues, it will rewrite the blocks until it is satisfied they can be reread. This uses up tape capacity. Run the assessment test in HP Library & Tape Tools (www.hp.com/support/tapetools), and it will tell you if the drive is having considerable capacity loss.
