Ultrium LTO1 Drive

Hello there,

I'm having some troubles with a Ultrium1 drive. I just cant write more than 50GB of RAW-Data on a LTO1-Tape. It doesnt seem to be a Software-Problem because I'm having this issue in several applications. Tried ARCserve Backup and NTBackup with the exact same Problem. Even with Hard- or Softwarecompression the Tape will not grab much more data (speaking about very less).
Is there a known issue? Does someone have expirience with something like this?

Thanks
Florian

Re: Ultrium LTO1 Drive

Use Library and Tape tools to perform Read/Write test and LTO Drive assesment test on that drive.
An old drive can lose capacity because some of the head elements are faulty and not all tracks are written.
