Unable to Perform Firmware Downgrade on ESl712e
Good Morning
I've had a replacement drive installed into an esl712e, this drive is at a higher level of firmware than the existing drives in the silo, we currently cannot upgrade the other drives to the new level yet so i need to have this drive running on the same firmware as the others. When i access the firmware wizard the check box for allow firmware downgrades is grayed out, can anyone advise how to get round this.
Thanks
Jason

Re: Unable to Perform Firmware Downgrade on ESl712e
I've actually found out the answer from an HP engineer who has come onsite for a different reason. When you first launch command view in the management station tab select enable factory overrides, enter the current password, then you can select the tape library you want to manage. Once in the firmware wizard you will then be able to select the tick box.

Hey Jason,
If you drag the mouse over the disabled check-box a "tool-tip" will advise you on how to enable the check-box.
Cheers!
