Unknown error V-79-57344-34028 Be 11d MSL5026
I have seen this problem reported before t recap:
HP MSL 5026 with SDLT 160/320
New Media
LSILogic 22320 Card
Backup Exec 11d latest tape drivers and hotfixes.
The backups will run up to about 1-2 hours approx 250Gb of data and the fail with the error below.
Goign mad over this. Can anyone help?
Howard
unknown error occurred on device "SDLT 2".
V-79-57344-34028 - A tape read/write error has occurred. This is usually caused by dirty read/write heads in the tape drive. Clean the tape drive, and then try the job again. If the problem persists, try a different tape. You may also need to check for problems with cables, termination, or other hardware issues

As stated:
A tape read/write error has occurred. This is usually caused by dirty read/write heads in the tape drive. Clean the tape drive, and then try the job again. If the problem persists, try a different tape. You may also need to check for problems with cables, termination, or other hardware issues
Consider a bad tape, bad drive or even bad cable. (I asume a bad drive).
Get the LTT tool and run an assessment test.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Unknown error V-79-57344-34028 Be 11d MSL5026
Thanks,
The drives have been cleaned and all media is new. I've run the assessment test and it passes. The media is new as well.
I've followed the HP and Symantec guidelines for this error and it makes no difference so I really am stuck.
