Unresponsive LTO1 230e
I have an Ultrium 230e that is unresponsive, when plugged in, all the lights on the front are lit and solid, the eject button is unresponsive, inserting a paperclip in the reset button does nothing. The drive was bought in Nov/Dec 2003, is it still under warranty, anything I can try?

Re: Unresponsive LTO1 230e
To which system the drive is plugged in?
It is required to use the compatible SCSI HBA with this drive . Refer following docs for it.

Here is the troubleshooting guide for the drive.

Re: Unresponsive LTO1 230e
The drive should be under warranty until nov/dec 2006.
Try disconnecting the LTO 230e from your server and powercycle, does anything change?
Otherwise this could be an unrecoverable error such as a dropped leader.

Re: Unresponsive LTO1 230e
Thanks, I have confirmed the warranty status.
The drive does not respond at all after a power cycle, as in unplugging the power cable and plugging it back in. The power button is unresponsive also.
Thanks for all your help. Case closed.
