Update firmware for Ultrium 460 drive of ESL9322

We have two way for update the firmware, one is by serial with LibDiag, but so slowly, I don’t want to use the way.
Another way is transfer the firmware by LTT (HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools), you can download it from the web site: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=406731&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=406729&submit.y=5&submit.x=4〈=en&cc=us, the newest version is 3.5 SR1 (22 Sep 2004).
So you need download the tool for your OS, then install it into your system. I just explain with UNIX, list below:
The software default install path is /opt/ltt, you just download new firmware and put it into the path: /opt/ltt/firmware, then check it exist in the path:
root@l2000a: /opt/ltt # ll firmware
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 740064 Jan 17 14:09 LTT_Ultrium_2-SCSI_F59W_OEM20_HW0.frm
Run the LTT, update firmware follow the steps:
root@l2000a: /opt/ltt # ./hp_ltt
Select device, just select ESL9322, the software will scan all equipments link with it. Or you can only select one tape drive for update firmware one by one.
Input “firmware”, and then go into update sub-menu.
Check the version of these drives and which version can update to.
Input “start” for update firmware, we need about two minutes per drive.
After update complete, please check the version of these drives now. Then exit the software.
Because the ESL9322 will not know the new version of the firmware of all drivers, you need power cycle it after stop backup sessions.
