VPAR DLT 11.11

When performing an ioscan in HPUX 11.11 on a VPAR machine, an ioscan will not show up a DLT 7000. DDS3 shows ok ??

Re: VPAR DLT 11.11

Hello,

We need more information in order to be able to help you.

Where is the DLT7000 installed? Is it together with the DDS3 drive? Is it properly terminated with the correct terminator? Is it connected to the right SCSI card?

Darren

If the DLT IO path is not assigned to that vPar, then you will not see it.

Now in vPar's, IO paths are limited to the IO Card, or internal "bus".

If you really want to, post your vPar configuration:

vparstatus -v

and then an "ioscan -fn" of EACH vPar.

Re: VPAR DLT 11.11

The DLT is on it's own on the SCSI bus, it has an address of 4 & is plugged into an A5838 PCI 100 Base-TX SCSI Combo card. The correct terminator is in use.

The OS is 11i with VPAR software installed. The tape drive has been proven to work in other machines (Albeit not with vpar or HP-UX 11i).

I've tried the DLT in two VPAR machines. One didn't see it at all & the other sat runniing ioscan for eons !

Thanks Harry, I've checked this already & have tried ioscanning both sides of the VPAR without success.
