cannot open exchanger control device

hi all,

 

i'm facing problem with my backups in data protector 6.0.

 

please find attached scree short for detials and guide.

is this msl6000 fibre connected? Did you try a power cycle? The nsr could get hung ...

yes this is msl6060, with 2 active drives. right now i have just restart cell manager

Try if you can ping/telnet/web access the NSR. If this unit is frozen, you cannot see the library. A power cycle will reboot the NSR. You should check the firmware. Should be version 5.9.63.

Hi,

 

If the other presented solutions do not work check the the scsi address in the device configuration of DP.

 

Go to "devices and media" right click on your library and select properties.

In the tab Control go to configured paths and select you pat to the library (if set to multipath) otherwise click on the drop down menu next to "SCSI address of the library robotic".

After a few seconds you get as reply the adress of the library if it is still active.

Confirm the address and try to load a tape.
