colorado 5gig external

Hi
I'm running Win98. I've installed the cd "Colorado Backup Tape backup Software for DOS, Windows, and Windows 95". The tape drive is whirling around but when I get into the program and i select backup on the next screen there is no tape drive visible.
can anyone help. Cheers
