dat 24e tape drive
Our dat drive achieves zero compression ratio on linux redhat 7.0, checked with mt that hardware compression is on, had same problem with win 2k server. Any ideas what to do?

Yes, ideas... Try HP diagnostic tool LTT first http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html and analyze device support ticket. Run data compression test and return here with results
