how to re-use the old used tapes in the same cell in DP after recycling them,I mean ,is formattnig the only way?

Hi maple, Data Protector questions has its own forum and you will get quicker answers there.

You can re-use old tapes by recycling them, if they are not in "poor" state. You can re-format if you want but is not required.

To clear the poor state, you can use:

omnimm -reset_poor_medium
