e1200 hardware reset?

I have an e1200 storage router in the back of a MSL5030 that is completely unresponsive but all appears to look fine (lights etc). It may be that the configuration had been changed at some point in the past. Is there a factory reset jumper or anything?

Re: e1200 hardware reset?

Jon,

Can you log on to the NSR using the web interface? You can restore the factory default settings in there:

System:
Reset Menu

This can be done from the CLI (telnet or serial connection) as well:

Configuration Menu:
C) Reset and Save Configuration to factory defaults.

But just start by powering off and on again the NSR. See if you can access it again now.

best regards,

Kurt

Re: e1200 hardware reset?

I have tried the web interface and cannot connect to the default 1.1.1.1 so I assume it was changed by out configuration people for their test network before implementation.

I'm giving the serial connection a go - Do you know the default hyperterminal settings? Parity, Stop bits, Data bits?

Thanks.

Re: e1200 hardware reset?

The following are the hyperterminal settings:

*BAUD rate: Autobaud, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200
*Data bits: 8
*Stop bits: 1
*Parity: None
*Flow control: XON/XOFF

If you try to connect to 1.1.1.1, make sure you've got a local IP address in the same subnet (eg 1.1.1.2).

Kurt

Re: e1200 hardware reset?

Thanks - all done - it was the XON/XOFF we didnt have on and for the serial connection and the IP was set to some other spurious address.

Many thanks.
