excluding individual NT files with Omniback on Unix

Hi,

I'm using omniback A.03.50 on HPUX 11i and I'm having difficulties excluding a problem file from the backups. Backing up NT to unix tape library.

This particular file is constantly growing and produces Compleded/Errors (81:92)in the backup logs because of this. The file that I am trying to exclude is located on an NT filesystem.

I've tried several permutations of syntax in the 'Exclude Files&Directories' but to no avail.

Things I've tried using ' ', " ", ( ) etc to try and force correct path matching. This can actually corrupt the backup definition in omniback and I had to fix the quotes in the /etc/opt/omni datafile with vi.

/d:/directory/file
//d:/directory/file
/directory/file

none of the above work. and the \'s of dos get mapped to / found in unix automatically.

so. essentially I can't exclude a NT file that causes errors.

Any ideas?

Re: excluding individual NT files with Omniback on Unix

HI
Try

{
-exclude
"d:/directory/file"

}

in your datalist file.

Thanks.

Take it as it comes.

It already appears in the datalist file as

{
-exclude
"d:/directory/file"
-touch
}

And this seems to have no effect on the backups or the errors produced.
