hp 14gb Travan Tape ext. tape drive back up

I purchased this backup tape drive a couple of years ago when I was using the Windows 98 SW. I bought a new HP Pavilion about a year ago with ME sw and the tape drive was not supported when I tried to reload the original sw disk. Now I need a new driver apparently. How do I obtain the correct drive for this tape drive????

Hey Chuck,

Just head over to the HP.COM website, I've provided a link below. It will take you to the Windows 2000 drivers which 9 times out of 10 will work with Windows ME.

The version of backup software that you need is Colorado Backup II 9.1. Nothing else works. Unfortunatly, CBII is not available yet from HP but will be soon (from their website). In the meantine, you can head over to http://www.stompinc.com and download the evaluation version of backup my pc. If it works and you like it there's instructions on purchasing it. hallo, this is correct, you can use the 14 GB external also in windows 2000 Backup, CBII 9.1 is not under license anymore, but you can work fine with the program BUMP"back up my PC" from Veritas! It is the same program, but it support also Windows XP!Looks like CBII and works with same comfort!!
You find ths program on this website and you can download the 30 days trial version to test!

Good news for you!!
Now you find a upgrade to colorado backup on the support sites of HP, there you can download the CBII 9.0 and 9.1.
It doesen??t matter witch drive it is!
