hp autoloader 1/8 and backup exec 8.6

Backup exec recognizes my autoloader as a standalone driver. I have the latest device driver release. In the driver configuration dialogue box, I don't have the robotic library. In the device management window, I see changers, so backup exec has been installed with the robotic library option.

Any idea?

Re: hp autoloader 1/8 and backup exec 8.6

Lampaert, check with BackupExec doc if you need to remove drivers for autoloader prior to its installation. Check if there are no SCSI Id conflicts (should not, but anyway check) and SCSI bus is terminated properly.
Try checking autoloader with HP LTT http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50128.html
Try HP recommended SCSI HBA http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50063.html

Re: hp autoloader 1/8 and backup exec 8.6

All tests with HP LTT are ok

The SCSI bus is terminated crrectly, the terminator was provided by HP

The server is an IBM Netfinity 3000. The SCSI cardis internal and it's an Adaptec 2940UW

Then I consider there's a problem with Backup exec installation/configuration. Try reading manual :o) Check por patches. Did you log a call with Veritas?
