ioscan cannot see drives of the MSL6000 tape library

If you connect the cables to another switch port, the hardware path changes and you get new device files, just like for a new device.

The system "remember" the old devices until the next reboot, so you see them as "NO_HW".

Did you notice the various device files:

0mn
2mn
3mn
5mn
7mn


Maybe your backup software is looking for 0mn, but it is now 7mn, for example.

You need to adjust your application.

I think we are on the right path, I´m no expert in DP, but I try to configure new paths (/dev/rmt/9mn) i.e. the same ones that appear on O/P of ioscan -fnC tape, but backups are failing. One thing I noticed is that after reboot the ioscan shows me only 6 paths as opposed to 12 that show me previously. Is that because we moved the FC cable from the top switch to the bottom one?
So now I cant see 6 paths...
