Thank you for your responses. I appreciate your pointing me to the root cause of this issue, that the SCSI address 0 is default for the robotics. Since SCSI address 0 is in use by DDS3 drive, the robotics needs an unused SCSI address.
I will perform the necessary procedures and reply with the results - which I expect to be success in the OS recognizing the new hardware, autoch.

After changing the HP Autoloader SCSI ID on the unit itself and then rebooting the HPUX 11.00/rp5470 server, I was able to see the autoch in the ioscan.
See attached ioscan output.
I was then able to install the firmware updates to the tape library using HP LTT and then proceeded to autodetect the device in Data Protector Devices & Media/Devices.
