Hi,
As my subject states is there a external LTO-3 fiber channel tape drive stand alone?
We need it for offsite testing of LTO-3 drives from primary site - reading & writting, but need to connect it via FC.
Thanks

Hi,
I do not believe there is an stand alone tapedrive (LTO3) whit an FC connection.
However, there is an alternative.
If you buy an MDR (Modular data router) you can translate FC to SCSI. This is an option that you can use to attach an SCSI tapedrive to and MDR and connect to MDR to FC.
The info contained in the link is quite old (2003), (i am from the old shool).
Perhaps there are some new items on the market that do the same.

Re: is there an external lto-3 fiber channel drive (stand alone)
I would suggest to buy the MSL2024 it is the entry level and have FC connectivity, you can get it with only one LTO-3 and will not be obsolete, and available for upgrades
