loading drivers

What's the best way to load drivers if your tape drive doesn't recognize the device file 0mt and you need the make_recovery_tape to be on 1mt. Thanks

Re: loading drivers

Sandra,

Do first an ioscan -fnC tape to see the listing.

It should look like:

Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=====================================================================
tape 0 0/0/1/0.3.0 stape DEVICE HP C5683A
/dev/rmt/0m /dev/rmt/c0t3d0BESTn

If the driver 'stape' is not mentioned it must be added to the kernel followed by a rebuild and reboot.

The device files are listed as well. If they are not there, the command 'insf -e' will create them. Do an 'ioscan -fnC tape' again.

Re: loading drivers

Hi,

use -a option with make_tap_recovery command

#make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/1mn -A
