hi,
I guess you are asking for the complete backup system config with msl6030 as the preferred library for backup.
Or .....

Re: msl 6030, which scsi controler

In fact for the moment I have a litte backup server (dual PII 600Mhz with 256Mb ram). It works fine with a SureStore 6x24 and I would like to connect the msl 6030 to it but I have to add a scsi ultra 3 controler and some momery. But I don't which controler I have to buy.

Thx

Re: msl 6030, which scsi controler

hi,

I can only tell you that msl6030 is having a
LVD SCSI controller so you may have to try some compatible interface only.

As per this link:
http://www.pcwb.com/servlets/Catalogue?id=(780895)

The LVD SCSI interfaces can be loacted from
here:
http://www.pcwb.com/servlets/Catalogue?id=(780895)

But unable to locate a docoument for exact
apple-to-apple compatibility.

Re: msl 6030, which scsi controler

This card...
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/adapters/singlechannel/index.html

would probably work, but HP claims no support for an MSL.

This card...
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/adapters/66mhz-dual/index.html

IS a supported buy for the MSL libraries and probably more expensive.

If your looking for a cheaper card(than HP offers), try to match up the adaptec specs with the "64-Bit/66-MHz Dual Channel Alt OS Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter". The actual adaptor does not necessarily need to be 64-bit as most 64-bit cards work fine in a 32-bit pci slot.

The 19160 does not have an external LVD connector so that is probably not the best choice. The 29160LP is probably a closer match to what you would want.

Re: msl 6030, which scsi controler

Thanks a lot.

I just received a confirmation from my supplier that the 29160LP is ok for what I want to do, it will just be a little bit slower than a ultra 320 controler.

Have a nice day,
