no device after firmware update

After updating the firmware on a Compaq Super DLT1 using the recommended software, L&TT the device is no longer available. Even during the POST the device is not detected. The upgrade said it completed successfully. What happened?

Mike,
I suspect that drive is dead now. Check its leds, how it's POSTing. Try connecting to another host. You can send incident details to ltt_team@hp.com
