"Extension Flag Missing" error on TL895DLT

I am getting the following error on my TL895 unit's LCD screen:

Unsolicited Message
SK=4 ASC=83 ASCQ=23
Extension Flag Missing

My robotic arm is not moving and appears to be stuck inside a tape slot.

Anybody know what this error means?
