"Waiting for Update to Complete"
We are using ArcserveIT 6.6 with SP4. The backups are failing because it cannot it find a tape to overwrite. In the Arcserve tape server screen, I select View Tapes and the above error message appears and stays for a long time (sometimes hours) until at some point, the tape inventory appears. There are some blank tapes in the drive and the others are definitely in the scratch set. It seems the job is timing out when trying to find the appropriate tape to write to. I suspect the problem is hardware related (tape drive, SCSI connection) more than an Arcserve problem but I can't pinpoint the cause. We have dozens more backup servers, all the same model (ML370) which are running fine, but there are around 10-20% that have this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
