reset password and other questions for HP Surestore e2/20
Hi, I've got a out of maintenance HP Surestore tape library e2/20 (firmware rev 86) that I neend to reste the password on. As it's out of maintenance I can't log a job with HP. Help on this one would be greatly appreciated.
Another question, is there any HP-UX tools to manage the tape library etc.. Basically I want to run ignite backups to the tape library (connected to the HP-UX server by FC) and also run tar or fbackup's to it.
Thanks.

Re: reset password and other questions for HP Surestore e2/20
Brendan,
You can contro the robot arm with the 'mc' command. See the man pages for more details. Now you can load/unload a tape into the drive to create a backup or an Ignite tape.
Resetting the password is only possible by HP I'm afraid.

Re: reset password and other questions for HP Surestore e2/20
Resetting the password is only available through HP support, even if the unit is out of support/warranty, HP give you phone support for any questions, so open a call and ask to reset the password

Re: reset password and other questions for HP Surestore e2/20
Thanks for the help.
I had a quick look at the 'mc' command but couldn't work it out. I'll try ringing HP to reset the password so I can at least manage the library from my desktop.
