Re: searching documentation on DLT 7000 2/15

There is nothing special about it. There are two buses -- each can be HVD SCSI or SE-SCSI. Bus 1 has drive 1 and the robotics and bus 2 is drive 2 only. The SCSI ID's are selected via the front panel. Under HP-UX, this device is only certified using the HVD SCSI interface. Warning: HVD SCSI devices are only compatible with other HVD devives including terminators.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: searching documentation on DLT 7000 2/15

Hello Again,

the libray is now corectly connected to a AHA2944 to a win2K3 server.

either arcserve V11 and Netbackup 5.0 see
the two dlt7000 and the robotic.

the HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools
see the library.
I tried to flash the DLT, but the tools said that a tape was inserted.

there is a tape loaded in both drives!!!

Impossible to eject them, via the front pannel, or with the HP Tape Tool.

how can I physically remove the tapes?
Thanks ... :-)

Re: searching documentation on DLT 7000 2/15

If the tapes cannot be ejected by the front panel, try this:

Yes, great !!!

but, today my problem is rather:
how to take the tape drive out of the library ??? ;-)

the DLT drives are under the tree cartridges

Must I remove the front side of the robot? and how ...

any hint are welcome !!!

Re: searching documentation on DLT 7000 2/15

:-)) Long time since I opened my last one.

If I remember well, you need to remove all the fromt panel, getting access to the drives, the drives have the cable connections on the front under the cover, remove the cables and slide out the drive

Re: searching documentation on DLT 7000 2/15

Hello,

after autopsy, both the drives lost the tape
hook.
After a complete cleaning, boths hooks at the right place, the library is running
fine.

Thanks a lot and Best Regards,

Benoit.
