surestore 2/20 command line

I am new to the surestore 2/20 library, I have in running on the server (windows 2003) but I am not familiar with what command line tools or otherwise are available manage media (move, etc.) from the host server rather then the device control panel, I have found mention of HP OpenView Storage Operations Manager or HP StorageWorks Command View for Tape Libraries but I don't know where it can be dowloaded of the web

Re: surestore 2/20 command line

Your backup software should be able to manage the library, but if you want to move media only, have a look at the web interface or even use LTT.

Hope this helps!

Re: surestore 2/20 command line

You can set an IP address and plug that library into your network then it's easy to manage it and do operations like moving media from the web interface.

You really should have a backup application that supports media changers to get the most out of your library.

Re: surestore 2/20 command line

thanks so much for everyone's help, LTT has done the trick, once all services that have a hold of the device are stopped, great forum
