tape drive issue

I am runing trough the fellowing error whenever I try ntbackup or veritas with SDLT 220 tape drive attactched to ML 370 g4 server

The device reported an error on a request to MS_UpdateNtmsOmidInfo.
Error reported: 11.
There may be a hardware or media problem.
Please check the system event log for relevant failures.
An inconsistency was encountered on the media in Travan. Do not append to this media.
The operation was ended.
Backup completed on 26/07/2005 at 16:39.
Directories: 0
Files: 0
Bytes: 0
Time: 1 second

Which is it? An LTO 2 or SDLT tape?

You say it's an SDLT 220 drive but the error message indicates LTO2.

Meant to include in previous post.
Since the destination is defined as LTO 2 and the model in reality is SDLT then it looks like you may be using the wrong driver.

However I don't know how the "Archive backup destination" field is populated. Is that just a text field you filled in or is it from the system itself?

If it's just a text field you filled in then ignore my comments.
