using LTT and updating firmware

Hello,
Our DDS drive constantly blinks the cleaning light. Our HP support tech said to install LTT and run scans. However, the scans produce a file with a .lzt extension, and the support tech says he can't read them, they must be corrupted. I don't think they're corrupted, I think the files are not meant to be read by text editors. How can the .lzt files be read outside of the LTT program?

Also the LTT program has a feature for downloading firmware, but our firewall won't allow such downloads. How can I get the firmware files, should I load the windowns verson of LTT, get the firmware, and move it to the HP LTT firmware directory? Or is there a place I can get the firmware files for HPUX and copy them to the firmware directory? Thanks,

Brian

Re: using LTT and updating firmware

The support tickets should be read by LTT. Sometimes there are multiple files.

You can use LTT just for downloading, then transfer the *.frm files

or

browse hp.com to get the same files and store them in LTT firmware directory.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: using LTT and updating firmware

The support rep probably couldn't read the file because it got transferred as ascii. I got the Windows version and can read files and download firmware. Thanks,
