using a hp1537a dds3 as a video?
ok crazy idea but i noticed that when i backup a dvd to a tape, the transfer rate seems more than capable of supporting dvd quality video playback. presumably if someone wrote some software to interface with the drive, it could be used like a video recorder? just an idea for people to think about over christmas.

Re: using a hp1537a dds3 as a video?
No way. You can store audio and DVD only in DDS data format (as files, not in audio and video formats). Look at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpg51220&locale=en_US
