i've got a L2000 and i need to connect a tape drive to one scsi interface on it. the ioscan output of this interface is:

there is a tape library connected. i wonder which kind of tape drive i could connect to this interface. and what kind of scsi cable i need to connect this tape drive to that interface.
thanks a lot.

Hi
Your libary contains an DLT8000 (FWD SCSI)
So if you connect another tape drive to this SCSI controller you need also a tape drive which supports a FwD interface.
The layout of your cable depends on the type of FWD controller and your FWD tape drive

it depends on the interface in the SCSI card and the drive. Please checks the installation manual of the tape drive.

Re: which kind of scsi cable and tape drive i should select ?(urget)
Daisy Chaining is never recommended.
If you want to install a new tape drive, I would suggest getting a pci scsi card to install in the server and connect a tape drive to that.
Most recommended scsi card are U 160 or more specifically an adaptec 29160 scsi card.
This scsi card will be sufficient for DLT 80, VS80, VS160 , SDLT and low speed ultrium's.
NOTE: LTO #, ultrium 960 require a minimum of Ultra 320 scsi card.
