Leading the Next Revolution in Auto Manufacturing: How Ford Leverages the Intelligent Edge
The company that famously sparked the original revolution in auto manufacturing – laying the foundation for much of modern industry in the process – is now leading the sector’s newest, IoT-enabled transformation. Ford Motor Company relies on edge computing and IoT innovation from Hewlett Packard Enterprise to help design and develop a new kind of automobile.
As part of his General Session at HPE Discover Las Vegas in June, HPE’s President and CEO Antonio Neri sat down with Jeff Lemmer, Ford’s CIO, to talk about the many ways that the Internet of Things and compute innovation are impacting an industry that Jeff describes as “one of the most data-intensive in the world.”
Watch the video to learn:
- How IoT and edge computing are bringing new efficiencies to manufacturing facilities, supply chain, and preventive maintenance, and delivering new insights for customers
- Why the vision for tomorrow’s vehicles must include a deep understanding of connected cities and an approach that recognizes transportation as a human right
- How the right data combined with human-centric technologies can give companies a more comprehensive view of what their customers want.
