Accelerate Carriers’ Transformation to the Telco Cloud

Leveraging key competitive strengths, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are poised to be drivers of service innovation in the expanding Digital Economy. To realize their full potential, CSPs are embarking on an ambitious transformation to realize a more agile, efficient, cost-effective operating model. In particular, CSPs are turning to multi-vendor NFV solutions in order to take full advantage of industry-wide innovation. At the same time, CSPs need to be able to implement new NFV technologies quickly and reliably. As we’ve mentioned in our previous blog, the key to helping CSPs unlock the power of multi-vendor NFV and Telco Cloud solutions is a vibrant ecosystem – one vendor simply can’t do it alone.

Under the banner of HPE’s OpenNFV Partner Program, Samsung and Hewlett Packard Enterprise have announced a partnership that illustrates the value of a multi-vendor NFV solution approach. Bringing together Samsung’s strength in virtualized network functions (VNFs) and HPE’s portfolio of NFV infrastructure capabilities, this partnership is focused on helping CSPs quickly and confidently leverage NFV to meet ever-increasing demands of their customers while reducing cost.

With the partnership, Samsung and HPE can provide carrier-grade VNFs for mobile networks, such as virtualized EPC (vMME, vGW), virtualized IMS (vCSCF, vTAS, vPTT-AS, etc.). Building on HPE’s carrier-grade NFV Infrastructure and NFV MANO solutions, HPE and Samsung will provide a reliable NFV foundation and enable CSPs to bridge from their current infrastructure to NFV.

Furthermore, Samsung and HPE will develop a joint go-to-market strategy with ready-to-install third party solutions. The HPE OpenNFV Partner Program will review the third party offerings.

We welcome you to learn more about our partnership with Samsung, and follow us at @HPE_NFV and @HPE_CSP.
