Reducing time to market with increasing complexity

Blog.pngIt almost seems like an oxymoron – taking products to market faster within an environment that continues to grow in complexity. Whether you are a broadcaster, communications service provider (CSP), content creator or OTT pure player (i.e. Netflix), the increasing complexity of the market is a reality you face.

 

This complexity is due in part to the ever increasing demand for OTT video consumption anywhere, anytime on any device. Whether its live streaming content or video on demand (VOD), the increase of devices accessing video, means more formats, compression standards, bit rates, etc. that providers must accommodate to remain competitive. This has been one of the main drivers in creating more complexity, and the second is the influx of competition from a variety of companies converging onto the digital video streaming market and creating customer churn. From Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Broadcasters OTT offerings, to CSPs creating their own exclusive content, the choices are almost overwhelming, yet still being consumed at an aggressive pace.

• EPG aggregation and management of multiple sources in different formats, and services for catchup and cDVR
• Managing resources for tasks such as processing or transcoding automatically as needed
• Workflow orchestration for end to end VOD and live playout
• Enrichment of metadata to increase customer’s video experience and create more profitable and additional monetization opportunities
