 NFV conference sessions:

SDN, Network Agility, and Security: Truth or Consequences? Monday, April 27, 11:15am – 12:00PM in Lagoon B Vinay Saxena, Chief Architect, Network Functions Virtualization Business, HP, will join the distinguished panel. Much of the promise of SDN has focused around making network resources more agile, but that's masked a more serious discussion about the security aspects of networking's future directions. This panel discussion will dig into both the concerns that have been raised about the security consequences of different SDN implementations and the benefits that SDN can bring to a more effective security stance. Have we opened the door to network anarchy or turbocharged efforts to move faster than our adversaries? The panel will hash it out with what's bound to be a lively discussion.

SDN First Steps. Thursday, April 30, 8:30 – 10:15am in Mandalay Bay J The panel of experts will include Sarwar Raza, VP, Product Management - Network Functions Virtualization Business, HP. While SDN promises to transform the network through increased automation, operational flexibility, and new applications, the transformation won't take place all at once. The most likely step is to start with one or two use cases built around an SDN island. This approach minimizes capital investment, lets IT get comfortable with new processes and tools, and serves as a beachhead from which to expand further into the enterprise. The panel will discuss likely use cases for initial deployments, the skill sets organizations should prioritize as they move forward with SDN projects, and how to manage the disruption - and exploit the opportunities - SDN brings to traditional operations and engineering disciplines.

Keep an eye out for our NFV Q&A Bus Stop where you will get the opportunity to ask and answer questions about NFV! We look forward to seeing you in Vegas!
