Where in the World is OpenNFV: OpenStack Summit 2015, October 27 – 30

We are taking HP OpenNFV to OpenStack Summit 2015 in Tokyo! Join us October 27th - 30th at Grand Prince International Convention Center & Hotels in Tokyo, Japan and learn more about our journey towards OpenNFV.

We invite you to attend our panel sessions and stop by our booth to learn more about NFV solutions:

Panel Session

  • NFV Panel: Join Tariq Khan, Chief Technologist Cloud/SDN, NFV at the “NFV Bake-off” panel discussion, along with other experts from HP, Ericsson, Brocade, Alcatel, Huawei and Juniper. This panel discussion will bring NFV vendors together to share the maturity, similarities and differences between their respective NFV products. This panel will take place October 29th 2:40PM – 3:20PM

NFV Sessions

  • Session 1: High performance networking for running data plane intensive carrier workloads, October 29th 9:00AM-9:40AM. Join Tariq Khan, HP Chief Technologist Cloud/SDN, NFV and Arun Thulasi, HP Chief Technologist NFV as they discuss the performance required by data plane intensive carrier applications leads developers to choose bypass technologies. This session will provide an overview & demo of HP’s carrier grade distribution of OpenStack that includes a resilient and line rate capable vSwitch.
  • Session 2: OpenStack for multiple micro-sites connected by a WAN for vCPE, October 29th 9:50AM-10AM. Join Tariq Khan, HP Chief Technologist Cloud/SDN, NFV and Arun Thulasi, HP Chief Technologist for Vertical Solutions in NFV as they explore the challenges associated with distributed scale (100 – 100k sites) and small form factor of compute nodes (low cost & power) associated with vCPE. In addition, they will provide an overview of available deployment architectures and offer a recommended approach.
  • Session 3: Carrier-grade Solution for Dynamic Service Function Chaining using OpenDaylight, October 29th 11:00AM-11:40AM. Join Shlomi Alfasi, HP Software Engineer as he takes a deep dive into how OpenDaylight-based service function chaining is a carrier-grade solution, and can provide benefits to mobile operators. Alfasi will discuss how service function chaining (SFC) can associate traffic with a customer while making appropriate, traffic-related networking decisions.

HP NFV Booth

Join us at our booth #P5 for a game of Jenga, and help us lay the building blocks for a successful NFV journey! We are also excited to show some of our demos with the OpenStack community:

NFV Demos

  • Successful NFV with HP Helion OpenStack Carrier Grade: Join Amit Dey, HP NFV Business Development, Tariq Khan, HP Chief Technologist Cloud/SDN, NFV and Arun Thulasi, HP Chief Technologist for Vertical Solutions in NFV as they help address how to run your VNFs on a robust, carrier scale, highly reliable and high performance platform. The NFV team will help you take advantage of the open interfaces and large, open-source developer community. HP Helion OpenStack Carrier Grade provides all this and more, including extensions and integration specific for NFV and connecting OpenStack to areas such as OSS, SDN and VIM. Find out how this new Cloud management system can benefit your NFV deployment today.
  • OpenStack Orchestration for Virtualized sGi-LAN: Join Alon Dotan and Shlomi Alfasi HP Software Engineers, Enterprise Group as they explore how carriers are rapidly virtualizing sGi-LAN (sGi-LAN is the network between PGW and the Internet) as part of the mobile network rapidly. This demo will show the subscriber-aware service function chaining of the functions like optimization, parental control and more. It will demonstrate VM orchestration using OpenStack and how a virtualized mobile infrastructure can enable agility in rolling out new services while providing carrier-grade capabilities like high availability and scalability.
