3Com X5 3CRTPX5-U-96

My X5 have an issue, i dont k now why but the memory goes up, to over 90%,  after i restart it has 85% and every thing is ok, but for some reasons after a couple of days goes up and never down. I have setup the nex things:

- 3 site to site VPNS.

- IPS and WebFiltering OFF.

- Works as My DHCP server for about 70 Users.

- I have VOIP with asterisk in my LAN

Do you guyd have an idea?

Do you have logging turned on for any of the firewall rules?

Re: 3Com X5 3CRTPX5-U-96

most of the performance issues (high CPU utilization) in tipping point platforms are because using a lot of DV filters in permit and notify fashion.

the notifications are most handled by CPU, so every time a DV filter fires, process a notification.

if you put in permit mode + notify every packet passin trough the IPS engine fires the filter and even a notification if the action set was configured in thay way.

do not configure the dv filters in that way, it is no intended for replace a network sniffer.
