Friday blog roundup: robot shopping carts, faster employee self-service docs, Cloud storage, more

on ‎04-18-2014 04:52 PM

Here’s some recommended reading for a Friday afternoon … posts that caught my eye this week around the blogosphere:

Jake Ludington’s Digital Lifestyle Jake Ludington: What will IT look like in 2020? Jake interviews HP Software’s Mike Shaw on HP’s latest survey of CIOs for their take on the future of IT. Mike’s picks include how IT will step out from behind its “service desk” role and get embedded in project teams and the business at large. Lots of other great stuff, too. Robot shopping carts, anyone? Proactive smartphones? State-of-mind sensors?

Briefings Direct Dana Gardner: HP Art documentation and readiness tools bring better user experiences to Nordic IT solutions provider EVRY When Norway’s biggest IT solution provider needed a faster way to produce employee self-service content, they turned to HP’s Adoption Readiness Tool. Dana interviews EVRY’s solution adviser Sigve Sandvik for the full story.

Avoa Tim Crawford: 4 Reasons Cloud Storage is not a bubble about to pop Tim looks at the burgeoning cloud storage startup landscape and refutes the nay-sayers.

1CloudRoad Julian Vashisht: HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 – Helpful Documentation. Julian notes that HP “has been doing a great job pumping out some deep dive technical guides on their storage portfolio,” and proceeds to give an extensive listing of those docs. Very useful reference piece.

Bitcon Bart Heungens: What about HP OneView and existing Virtual Connect domains? Bart’s been getting questions about this, how it works, whether it’s supported; and he knows where to find the answers. You can read more about HP OneView here.
