HPE Teams with Wipro To Deliver Consumption Based IT

By Joachim Frank VP, HPE Pointnext

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise continues to work with industry-leading companies to ease and simplify the adoption of Hybrid IT.

Meg and Wipro.jpgRecently HPE and Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced a new global go-to-market agreement designed to bring the advantages of Hybrid IT to their joint customers. Their collaboration draws on the widely recognized strengths of the two companies to offer a way for enterprises to reap the economies of the consumption-based, scalable IT model by tapping the knowledge, capabilities, and resources of experts.

Those customers now have access to a comprehensive offering that provides the agility they need to support changing and often unpredictable business requirements with the economies of a public cloud experience. Those benefits are coupled with the types of control and performance benefits enterprises get from on-premise IT.

In other words, everybody wins.

A cornerstone of the agreement is flexibility. HPE will complement Wipro’s infrastructure-as-a-service offerings with Flexible Capacity, a service that allows enterprises to pay for IT capacity based on IT metered usage. Through this model, HPE provides the on-premise equipment the customer chooses to use as a service, and the customer pays only for what is used1.  With Flexible Capacity, HPE helps customers optimize their capacity management by providing an intelligent, built-in on-premise equipment buffer This ensures that they will never run out of capacity and can quickly and easily scale to meet fluctuating business requirements.

As a result, enterprises:

  • Avoid over-provisioning up front. They pay only for what they use. There is no up-front investment because payments are made monthly based, on metered usage.
  • Do not need to adapt workloads or operations to take advantage of the Hybrid IT infrastructure. Security and compliance rules are the same as the ones used for their present set-up.
  • Experience faster time to market for their businesses as infrastructure changes can be activated in minutes.

This shift in how HPE is enabling enterprises to approach IT is not trivial. By bringing together the best of on-premise IT and public cloud computing, it represents a significant change in how enterprises predict, pay for, and deliver IT capacity to the business.

Meg We make hybrid IT simple.jpgThe agreement exemplifies one way in which HPE Pointnext, our services organization, is demonstrating its commitment to helping enterprises make the type of digital transformation that works for their business.

Industry analysts predict that the transition to consumption-based solutions will continue to grow at a fast pace as enterprises realize how to reap the benefits of both on-premise IT and cloud computing. HPE, through go-to-market agreements like the one recently announced with Wipro, presents enterprises a way to combine the services, networking, storage, and VM they require in an “as a Service” contract, while taking advantage of a way to minimize many of the headaches associated with fluctuating IT capacity needs.

In short, joint customers of HPE and Wipro now have an easy way to take advantage of a comprehensive Hybrid IT offering.
