New HPE Pointnext services to make the most of Microsoft Azure

By Gerry Nolan

WW Director - HPE Datacenter Care

As you transform to a digital business, it’s important to strategically manage that transition to avoid bringing new complexity and risk to the business.  We often hear from customers that they’re operating in a hybrid environment – some workloads running on premises and some in the cloud, and they’re being asked to deliver a consistent user experience, but with more agility and speed.  Ensuring IT resources are being used efficiently (keeping them all in sync and delivering) is a real challenge and you are probably wondering how to achieve a successful outcome, HPE Pointnext can help.

We are simplifying the adoption of the cloud by enabling customers to purchase Microsoft® Azure® public cloud service subscriptions from HPE together with a range of operational services from HPE Pointnext to help you avoid problems, manage change, minimize cost and free up resources for innovation. These services are available through HPE Datacenter Care and HPE Flexible Capacity services to give you an unparalleled choice of options to help you operate your hybrid IT using Microsoft Azure public cloud. This results from the close partnership on Azure that we launched with Microsoft over a year ago. This joint initiative is another milestone in the 30 year history of joint collaboration, and builds on our outstanding expertise in Microsoft solutions. HPE Pointnext and Microsoft Azure’s accolades of market leadership reflect the opportunity, strength and innovation possibilities we can deliver to our joint customers.

 Datacenter Care with Microsoft Azure

You may be in the midst of your transformation journey, trying to find ways to simplify things. As you continue to build hybrid IT, now you can expand your Datacenter Care agreement to access, use and get billed for certain Azure public cloud services.   You’ll receive the enhanced Datacenter Care call experience and remediation support and the personal collaboration with your assigned account support team to resolve issues quickly and easily. And because Datacenter Care can deliver support across the entire IT environment, this service experience can provide end-to-end, on and off premises support for truly hybrid IT configurations.

Datacenter Care customers can also choose from the following optional service extensions for Azure public cloud services.

  • The new Datacenter Care Specialist Advice for Microsoft Azure service provides personalized guidance from an assigned Azure specialist who can help you get the most from your Azure investment.
  • Datacenter Care-Operational Support Services for Microsoft Azure will soon enable customers to monitor and manage certain Azure public cloud services the same way that we monitor and manage services in the data center. Through this experience you can offload routine tasks to HPE, allowing your teams to spend more time on innovation.

Flexible Capacity with Microsoft Azure

HPE Flexible Capacity is our unique service that delivers a flexible consumption model to your data center.  With Flexible Capacity you can have the pay as you go and rapid scalability of the cloud, but keep the control over privacy, latency, compliance and architecture that you enjoy in your data center.   This enhancement enables you to include certain Azure public cloud services and the Datacenter Care experience in Flexible Capacity agreements so you can have one contract, one usage portal, one invoice and one partner to rely on for your on and off premise hybrid IT. And Flexible Capacity customers can extend the experience with DC-Specialist Advice and DC-OSS services for Azure public cloud services.

Foundation Care with Microsoft Azure

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), meaning that we can include Azure services in the service above, sold and supported by HPE. For customers looking for standardized support, HPE can offer Foundation Care enabling customers to purchase basic 24x7 remediation support with their Microsoft Azure public cloud subscription.

The experience from the public cloud is the new benchmark for IT.  Whether you place your workloads in your data center, co-located, or in the public cloud, at HPE we continue to invest in ways to make your experience with Hybrid IT simpler – delivering a cloud like experience so that you can give your customers and users the experience they need.  That’s what a good IT partner does, and we aim to be your best partner. We’d like to hear any feedback, and what else we could do for you- share your thoughts in the comments!
