3X-DEGXA-TB這張卡上到1000速度比較慢

我的環境如下:

Server ES45 SRM 7.1-2

OS 5.1B AS5+NHD7

網卡3X-DEGXA-TB GIGABIT ETHERNET 10/100/1000

switch 是SMC 的

網路線是cat-6的

我測試了很多方式

結果在ES45設Auto-Negotiate,SMC 設100全雙工的傳輸速度最快

但是ES45設Auto-Negotiate

SMC 設到1000 or auto 速度反而比設100的慢(每秒約慢2MB)

我用我的筆記型電腦有giga port接到SMC,確定是可以上到1000,而且測試速度也比在alpha 上的快

請問ES45除了Auto-Negotiate,我還可以設成什麼模式

還是這是網卡跟switch 的相容性問題?

請問各位,有什麼好的建議呢?

It had been updated the latest OS patch kit 5 on Tru64 V5.1B.



From the following updated it should be worked very well on V5.1B/PK4 (BL25). See

The 3X-DEGXA-SB is reported as being a 3X-DEGXA-SA, and the 3X-DEGXA-TB is reported as being a

3X-DEGXA-TA. This has no effect on the operation or performance of either the 3X-DEGXA-SB or –TB,

and has been corrected beginning in BL25.



> 網路線是cat-6的

Operating at 1000 Mbps requires the use of CAT5 or better, four-twisted-pair, copper cabling.

I don't know the CAT-6 is better than CAT-5.



> switch 是SMC 的

The default is an "Auto-Negotiate" while GbE used on system starting, suggest to disable the spanning tree setting on SMC switch and used the lan_config (see man command) on /etc/inet.local for the detail testing while ES45 booting.



PS: Please check all of error counts via netstat or "hwmgr -get attr" for network interface

statistics runon 10/100/1000 FD/HD settings.

As the doc. described as below:

It is highly recommended that users read the “Running 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet over Copper Cabling” white paper available from the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance Web Site when considering the use of installed CAT 5 cable or planning for new copper cable installation.



Would you connect (crossover) NB-PC and ES45 directly on 1Gb setting and testing the IO performance in advance.



PS: No SW issues on 3X-DEGXA-TB on Tru64 UNIX V5.1B/PK5.
