/etc/fstab about fifth and sixth field

The syntax of a line in the /etc/fstab file is as follows.



file_spec mnt_point fs_type mnt_options backup fsck



1.The fifth field, (backup), is used by the dump command to determine which

file systems need to be backed up. If the fifth field is not present, a

value of zero is returned and dump assumes that the file system does not

need to be backed up. AdvFS ignores this field.



Q1: 請問第五個欄位如果AdvFS ignores this field，當我使用AdvFS時，執行dump還會備份這些file systems嗎?

還是不管這裏的設定全部會備，或者是用別的方式備份file systems?





2.For AdvFS filesets, the sixth field is a pass number field that allows the

quotacheck command to perform all of the consistency checks needed for the

fileset. For the root file system, specify 1 in the pass field. For

other AdvFS file systems specify 2 or higher in the pass number field.



Q2: 請問第六個欄位中的值1和2是什麼意思?是檢查的優先順序嗎?

A1: AdvFS 不管 the fifth field 的設定， 同時它備份 File Systems 的指令為: "vdump". See "man vdump"



A2: 第六個欄位中的值1和2是 "quotacheck" for AdvFS 檢查的優先順序.



PS: The quotacheck for all of AdvFS filesets that should be included both

"userquota or groupquota" and the fifth field is greater than 0 in /etc/fstab.
