51.B on Marvel , Trucluster "cluster root fs with error = ?"

51.B on Marvel , Trucluster "cluster root fs with error = ?"

Hello All ...

We are working our way through the Documentation of TruCluster restore examples in the Cluster Administration Manual, chapters
11.1.7 Recovering the Cluster Root File System to a Disk Known to the Cluster
AND
11.1.8 Recovering the Cluster Root File System to a New Disk

On the system we "fool around" with, to make a sound Disaster recovery procedure, we have experienced "cluster root fs with error = 6" .

What does the error codes mean ?

We know it has something to do with the mount of the cluster root and maybe the major minor numbers being wrong.

We have found the documentation, might need some adjustment, and we would like to know if it is generic or we are doing things wrong.

Kernel error 6 translate as "no such device or address" which indicates that the devices are not visable to UNIX.
Help() { FirstReadManual(urgently); Go_to_it;; }

Ralph ..
That fits with chasing around the 11.1.8 procedure and the device databases.

We have finished the work now, and in deed you need to swith around some of the numbers in the procedure.
(Ill put in more in the next reply

Also the Emergency boot disk have to be not only at same os level , but also the same patch level as the cluster.
The versions in the hw-databases differ (also corrected by hand in our case)

The final touch then was when returning to the original cluster root, to modify the cnx on quorum disk back by hand.
