CAA (CHECK_INTERVAL) question

Hello,

Is it "safe" to set CHECK_INTERVAL in the CAA resource profile to a value less than 10 seconds (I was told by our sysadmin that CAA becomes unstable, the answer which I don't really believe without confirmation from experts) ?

Resource is a database/network daemon.

Thank you

Re: CAA (CHECK_INTERVAL) question

if you lower the interval it could be happened that the check will fail if waiting of resources.

It also depend how much caa applications are running at the same time and if the machine is really busy.

Re: CAA (CHECK_INTERVAL) question

It depends on how long it takes for the check (on the resource/service) to complete. If you are dead sure that the check routine will complete in < 10sec, you can safely go ahead.

However, if the check takes longer, caa *may* think the resource/service is no longer available and take appropriate actions (depending on your service configuration).
