First configuration of new node cluster __VERY_SLOW__

Hi all,
I just insert a new node into a 2 nodes cluster. This third node (D25e, 2GB RAM) is now configuring patches for hours (really 6 hours).
Nothing to mentionned during the creation of this node.

cluster : 2 DS20 + 1 DS25 connected on a MA8000, cluster interconnect with a LAN switch, all ports FastFD AutoNeg Disable.

Please note that, the first ethernet card (ee0) is used for Cluster InterConnect ; the second (the gigabit one) will be used for LAN.

Any ideas welcome !

Re: First configuration of new node cluster __VERY_SLOW__

I'm 99% sure that the problem is related to the lan interconnect.

Every time that I had a problem like this was a problem with the interconnect.

In the Tru64 documentation site, there is a document to tune the interconnect and recommendations about the configuration of the switch. Check that document.

Lan interconnect is only recommended for standby clusters. We had a lot of problems with lan interconnect and migrated to memory channel.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Hi,

100mbit is not fast for a lan inter connect and ee cards should run with autoneg on.

greetings,
