Installing new tape drives on cluster system of two ES80 "tru64 v5.1B"

dear all
i have two servers of ES80 joined together as cluster system and after i finish installing the first member and did install all the application in this member i add two external tapes and i tried to rebuild the Kernel but am not succeeding to see them on the system.
pleas advice

Hi,

did you reboot the machine after adding the tapes or used the
hwmgr -scan
to search for new hardware?
What tapes models do you have and to what controller did you connect them?
Please post
hwmgr -show scsi

depending on your backup system there is a detailed installation instruction how to add tapes (e.g. networker manual).

There is also a primer of hwmgr etc. within the admin guide and a instruction within the cluster installation guides. As written in the controller thread: please read the documentation go through it - this is no a pc where playing around will solve a problem.
