Rebooting one member of a cluster takes down both members

Hi,

We are running Tru cluster on OSF1 5.1B on a DS 20 based systems.
We had a recent power module failure on one of the nodes and power module was replaced. Since then we are having this problem, when we try to boot one member of the cluster, both members are halted. And they cluster fails to reboot. The only way to resurect them is to reboot the members in a specific order. I am not sure what is the problem. Is there any specific tests I can run to diognise the problem.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions & recommendations.

Thanks and regards
Kaushik

I saw an advisory about a problem like this, if you have a panic string, you will be able to find the advisory using the panic string and google.

I think that the solution in the advisory was to force a hardware reset at SRM level.

Is it memory channel cluster?
Do you have console parameter "BOOT_RESET" set to ON on both members?
Are you running vfast on system disks?
Do you have fibre channel storage?

Hi Ivana,Valdimir thanks for your replies.
We do not have a memory channel. But yes it uses fibre.

You said when we try to boot one member of the cluster, both members are halted.
What were the messages?
Did you check logs on FC switches? Any errors on ports where alphas are connected?
And then cluster fails to reboot?
Any messages?
