Trucluster 5.1.A migration

Trucluster 5.1.A migration

I have a three member trucluster 5.1.A connected to an EMC Symmetrix storage with two HBA's eachone.
Now we have bought a new EMC Clarion storage.

I must migrate the cluster (system & data) from the old storage to the new storage.

Do you know if exist a procedure/manual/white paper to do this ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards from Italy

Re: Trucluster 5.1.A migration

easiest way is to recreate cluster from the original installation disk. Problem may occure due to changed WWID's (from new storage).

HP doesn't support EMC directly, maybe there are some hints from EMC service center. If WWID doesn't change or is manually configurable you must only copy the partitions/data directly.

Moving the cluster root filesystem to other storage units is described in below doc reference:

http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/base_doc/DOCUMENTATION/V51B_HTML/ARHGYETE/SGGSTNSC.HTM#cluster-root-rec-known

Moving boot-disks to other storage units is
described here:

Enjoy,
Johan.

Re: Trucluster 5.1.A migration

Hi,

i prefer recreating cluster instead of migrating.
never give up

Re: Trucluster 5.1.A migration

Ok, I'll recreate the cluster.(but the original disk is not update : hosts, fstab, passwd ecc)
I seem impossible that does't exist an easy way to do the migration.

Luigi,

The procedures exist and we have pointed you to their location.
You do NOT need to recreate the cluster, it's not because someone prefers it to do that way that you must to it too.

Johan.
